HONOLULU — Tripler Army Medical Center held the grand opening for its first bariatric room for patients recovering from surgery, Feb. 14.
"This new bariatric room is a step in the right direction to allow us to provide the best health care for our patients who live here on island, as well as our patients who receive care via the Pacific Island Health Care Project," said Brig. Gen. Dennis Doyle, commander, Pacific Regional Medical Command and TAMC, in his opening remarks.
The new room is fully outfitted with specially designed furniture, equipment, lifts and accessories and will make patients more comfortable, and make it easier for staff to help care for them.
