Abstract This paper outlines the advantages and disadvantages of three different types of urban transport systems: railways, trams and motorised buses. The paper provides the basic framework of the main UK transport problems and examines their underlying causes, with a focus on the public transport system.
Seminar 3.3- The Transport Revolution. Notes in Economic History. The British industrial revolution is recognised as one of the most striking industrial revolutions in history, having transformed British society in the course of two centuries, from the early 19th century to the late 20th century.
This paper deals with the revolution, its causes and consequences, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between rapid technological change and wider social change. In terms of its consequences, it signalled the end of the dominant form of social organisation and of social inequality in the city.
In the light of the British Industrial Revolution, this paper explores the extent to which the diffusion of such innovations has been haphazard or social (as opposed to the mechanical and technical). It will also examine the various social benefits and costs of the diffusion process, including its effects on mobility, social stability, the environment,

The problem:
I have the list of list of strings in a variable, each of them are of a type “string”. I would like to have them printed out, with the content of each string. (somehow like the output of “unix sort” – with the lines separate by “,”)
The list looks something like this
[[“Donald Duck”], [“Gandalf”], [“Santa Claus”], [“Donald Duck”], […]]
I tried the following:
import numpy as np
st = []
for item in memberList:
st.append(item)
memberList = np.array(st)
memberList.shape
(1, 748)
for member in memberList:
print(member)
However, this didn’t gave me the correct output.
A:
Change memberList = np.array(st) to memberList = np.array(st).tolist()
with that change, memberList becomes a list of lists rather than one list of 748 elements.
the solution is to loop through the lists:
import numpy as np
st = [[‘Donald Duck’], [‘Gandalf’], [‘Santa Claus’], [‘Donald Duck’], [‘…’]]
memberList = np.array(st)
memberList.shape
(1, 748)
for item in memberList:
print(item)
A:
Your code is pretty close to what you want. Instead of
memberList = np.array(st)
The following is all you need:
memberList = np.array(st).tolist()
