One year ago today, I went into the hospital knowing that my life was about to change. I was scared and I didn’t know what to expect. I knew that this was a huge decision but I was ready for it.
The first couple months were awful. I didn’t want to eat because I hated the foods I was allowed to eat. It was easier to just not eat. Soon after, this caused me to get really sick. I went into the emergency room three months after having RNY and they found a stricture in my intestine. I needed emergency surgery and was out of work for a few weeks.
Through all of this, I would do this all over again. My life was changed for the better. I am LOVING life. The insecure and depressed 23 year old that I once was is now a thriving, confident, self loving 24 year old. April 23, 2018, I took my life back. As of today, I am down 196 pounds since surgery. I’ve gone from a size 26/28 to a size 10/12. My shirts have gone from a 3x/4x to a M/L. I’ve done far better than I ever thought was possible.
A special thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I couldn’t have done this without any of you ❤️
GW- Healthy and happy
