Therefore an individual is considered overweight if the body mass index is between 26 and 29.

You are obese if your BMI is 30 or above. The extreme or morbid obesity is when a BMI is between 40 and above. Your doctor may likely recommend an obesity surgery in this case.

So, Is Weight Loss Surgery Right for You?

Your doctor is in the best position to determine if you need surgery to lose weight. The good news is, you can combine fitness exercise and healthy diet plan to lose weight.

Generally, you may be eligible for a weight loss surgery if;

• You are obese as an adult, particularly if you are suffering obesity-related ailments such as type 2 diabetes.

• You understand the risks as well as the benefits of fat loss surgery.

• You will be devoted to making changes in your lifestyle to sustain the weight loss result.

• You can make changes in your eating pattern after the surgery.

• If you can foot the cost of the surgery or if your health insurance covers such cost.

• Your doctor recommends fat loss surgery.

The most important point is the recommendation of your doctor. In essence, you may be eligible for obesity surgery if your doctor recommends it.

As mentioned earlier, your doctor is in the best position to recommend a weight loss surgery or otherwise. Speak with your doctor if your excess weight is responsible for your health issues.

However, the safest and risk-free way to lose weight and sustain the result is to combine fitness exercises and a healthy diet plan.
